Freebird: Consultant, Marketing & Brand

Freebird is a mobile app (iOS & Android), which gives users cash and point-based rewards for Uber and Lyft Rides, providing an incentive to use ride-share to decrease DUIs and environmental impact. Freebird also serves as a customer acquisition platform for bars, restaurants, retail, and events.

Brand Strategy

Developed clear, consistent voice for the brand. Recommended overall messaging strategy, the Freebird “voice” and POV, and how to articulate this within consumer and B2B communications. Worked with the team to best position Freebird’s strengths and values within target audience groups, to create an emotional connection, building authentic and enduring relationships with consumers.

Working With Cities

Engaged LA Chamber of Commerce, Santa Monica City Council, and Business Improvement Districts throughout Los Angeles County to support and promote Freebird, which increased consumer “traffic” to retail, bars & restaurants, while decreasing automobile traffic and parking congestion.

Strategic Partnerships

Strategized & implemented a “safe rides home” program for Diageo alcohol brands, which offered bar patrons $5 cash back if they used ride-share to get home. Secured & managed partnership with Atom Tickets to promote Freebird Rides to their movie and event customers.

 

College Marketing Programs

Launched college campus marketing programs and engaged local bars and restaurants to reward customers for using ride-share instead of driving.

Event Integrations

Strategy and implementation of Freebird promotions at LA Times Jonathan Gold VIP Foodie events, Summer Solstice Festival, Off The Hook Seafood Festival. Structured each activation to guarantee ROI and customer acquisition.

 

Advertising

Secured iHeart Radio promotions & advertising in key launch markets, tying into events at local bars and restaurants. Executed cost-efficient customer acquisition via Facebook advertising and managed vendors.
